Was pretty frustrated when I first plugged it in because every time I put a dvd in it would eject it immediately and did not want to give up because all the other reviews seemed to have said it worked. It would be nice if this package gave clear instructions on how to use it because I did not enjoy the fact that I was looking for some external drive that wasn't even showing up on my MacBook Air; especially since it took me 30 minutes of my limited time to figure it out(I tend to be pretty good with computers and technology in general. It works though! So I'll save you the time just in case you happen to have the same problem I had. Instructions: 1. Go to finder and then click on the fold that says "Other" 2. Then click on "Disk Utility" 3. Then look for the name that DOESN'T say "Macintosh HD 4. On mine it says "MATSHITA CD-RW CW-8124 5. Put the dvd or cd in and it should read it and start it on flash player So does it work? Yes. Am I still a little ticked off? Yes. But now you know how to actually get it to work without pay $70 for an Apple SuperDrive😄. So I guess now I would recommend it since now I can actually use it.. - Customer Reviews

USB external CD-ROM drive Fr Dell Netbook Inspiron Mini

Based on its price I wasn't expecting it to be great. But, it is so easy to use. It comes with two cords for power assist, but on the Dell 1010 Netbook, it only needed for me to use one of them. Yes, it has loaded all of my software, with no problems.

Not an amazingly well made product, but it serves its intended purpose. And for the price I paid, you can't go wrong. It's light, somewhat portable, and functional. I'd say I'm happy with my purchase on this item.

NEW Super Slim External USB Portable 24x CD-ROM Drive

I bought a mini netbook from a friend, but no cdrom. So came online and searched to land on amazon.com with this. At 1st i wonder will it work? So i took the chance and behold it worked wonderfully. I have a Hp 1116nr netbook, i plug the 2 usb cable in and poped Win Xp into the drive 1st boot up i was installing windows. I would recommend this to anyone with a type of netbook. If you useing it to install windows like i was, just make sure you know how to set the boot up for cd-rom. The only down side is it uses up 2 usb ports. 1 for power and other for drive, other then that it worked great.

Bought this because I was troubleshooting an issue on my grandpas computer. Between iTunes, windows media player, and his CPU's disk drive, there was an issue somewhere and apple had no clue what to tell me considering I had already tried everything their tech support could tell me to do. Long story short, bought the drive, plugged it in, worked right away. Instantly solved my problem. Advertised to read at 24x, only reads at 4x with itunes, (not sure about other programs. Either way great buy, easy fix, would reccomend to friends and family.

NEW Slim USB 2.0 External Slim USB 2.0 CD-ROM Drive for all Laptop notebook

I needed a CD-Rom for my Tiny ASUZ net book which I use when on a job away from home. The only use I have for it is to install or repair programs that are on A CD. I recieved it it in record time and was amazed at the size, smaller than some Jewel cases. I opened the box and plugged it in to my net book with the cables provided. It worked flawlessly. It is delicate and must be handled carefully and it is not too fast, but I could care less. I may never use it, as I normally store data on thumb drives. But as a back up system it is the best piece of hardware I ever purchased. The price was unbelievable. I have since recommended it to my friends who have net books with out a CD drive. I cannot say enough good about it. I love it.
